Sine Die: The Day The Legislative Session Ends

JACKSON, MISS– Your lawmakers are expected to wrap things up at the Capitol today.

The senate ended their business for this legislative session yesterday. The House of Representatives would have followed suit, but Rep. Bryant Clark held a bill to allow alcoholic beverages to be carried from place to place within an entertainment district on a motion to reconsider. He did so to protest the passing of the bill that would consolidate Holmes County and Durant schools.

With LaPorsha Renae singing “Amazing Grace,” the House gaveled out, and the session ends.
