HATTIESBURG, Miss.- Tuesday morning a sink hole opened up on the campus of USM.

Officials have closed several roads in order to prevent any danger to students and faculty. They are determining the impact this hole will have on the campus parking lot. It is located between Oseala McCarty Hall and Scianna Hall.

Officials have also closed Eagle Walk Drive for any vehicles coming through because they believe the four by three foot sinkhole may be causing more damage under the surface.

Road blocks have been set up from West Fourth Street to the South End of M.M. Roberts Stadium. Also parts of Ray Guy Way between the Jim and Thomas Duff Athletic Center and Joe P. Park Practice field are off limits.

Structural engineers are on the campus to asses the damage and evaluate the impact on nearby buildings.

Scianna Hall has been evacuated reports WDAM.
