Special election to fill John Moore’s House seat heads to runoff

Yesterday, four candidates were in the running to succeed former House Education Chair John Moore, who resigned back in December following multiple sexual harassment complaints.

Jim Giles, Morris Mock Jr., Bob Morrow, and Fred Shanks faced off in the election to take over the House District 60 seat in Rankin County. and now Bob Morrow and Fred Shanks will face off in a runoff election on March 13th.

Unofficial voting results from Rankin County show that Bob Morrow received 38.51% of the vote, and Fred Shanks received 43.06% of the vote while Jim Giles received 1.60% and Morris Mock Jr. received 16.78% of the vote.
