State and Ole Miss Bring Home Wins, Southern Falls to Nebraska, DSU Four Straight Wins

OXFORD, Miss.–Ole Miss took the Vanderbilt Commodores to their tenth straight SEC loss Saturday, with a final score of 27 to 16. The Rebels, ranked No. 3 in the country, are getting ready now for a trip to Florida next Saturday at 6.

Mississippi State celebrated a win over Auburn Saturday, with a highly charged team spirit and a 17 to 9 victory for the Bulldogs over the Tigers and a trip to College Station next Saturday. Kick-off is 6:30.

Southern Miss traveled to Nebraska but the Golden Eagles came home without the third straight win they were hoping for. The final was 36 to 28 and they host North Texas in Hattiesburg next week.

Delta State has a magnificent record, so far this season and Saturday had them with their fourth straight win, this one a complete shutout as they skunked Albany State 40 to 0 in Cleveland. The Statesmen are getting ready for the Florida Institute of Technology next week in Cleveland.

Alcorn defeated Concordia in Lorman Saturday and the win was 40 to 7.

The Jackson State Tigers defeated Texas Southern, 34 to 30.
