State Supreme Court Schedules Oral Arguments in McDaniel’s Election Challenge Appeal

JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi Supreme Court has scheduled to hear oral arguments in State Senator Chris’ McDaniel’s appeal of Jones County Circuit Court’s decision to toss out his challenge to the June 24 GOP Primary Election.

On Aug. 28, Judge Hollis McGehee dismissed the case because he said McDaniel waited too late to file the challenge.

Justices have given McDaniel’s attorneys until Friday to file legal arguments in the appeal. Cochran’s attorneys have until Sept. 24 to file arguments. Oral arguments will be heard on October 2.
