Tea Party Patriots Question Cochran’s Travel Assistant

JACKSON, Miss. – Just weeks before the Mississippi Senate primary, the Tea Party Patriots question Senator Thad Cochran about his executive assistant, Kay Webber, who has traveled with him overseas over 40 times on the taxpayer’s dime.

In response, Cochran spokesman Jordan Russell told the Clarion Ledger that Webber has worked with the senator for over 33 years and is one of his key employees. He also claimed that the questions regarding Webber’s travels were sexist, saying a male assistant would not have been questioned.

“This is not about a relationship, this is about the misuse of taxpayer funds,” said Kevin Broughton Communications Director for the Tea Party Patriots.

Cochran and McDaniel will face off in the primary on June 3.
