Three MHP Troopers end up in the hospital

LINCOLN, Miss.- Three Mississippi Highway Patrol officers have found themselves in the hospital after a series of crashes over the weekend.

The initial crash occurred when a trooper was en route to an accident site in Bogue Chitto around 3:00 pm. His car hydroplaned and he hit a tree on I-55.

Another trooper responded to the crash and found the driver unconscious. As he was trying to take the first trooper to the hospital he also hydroplaned and crashed on Highway 84 with the first trooper still in his vehicle.

Yet again, another trooper was attempting to assist the other two in distress when he too hydroplaned. Finally, an MHP deputy was able to get all three troopers to the appropriate hospitals.  Two with minor injuries were taken to King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, while the other who lost consciousness in the first crash was taken to UMMC in Jackson.

His injuries were severe, but he is in stable condition.
