North Mississippi feeling the heat today: temperatures rising out of the 70s this morning to reach a sweltering high in the mid 90s. Light winds and relatively low humidity making things somewhat more bearable, but not by much. Scattered showers are minimal today, staying partly cloudy clear through the evening. Tonight’s low returning to the mid 70s. Tomorrow more of the same: highs punching into the mid 90s with a slightly better chance for afternoon rain.

Throughout the central part of the state: a steamy Tuesday morning, with highs tipping into the lower 90s after lunch. Another day with a slim chance to catch an afternoon popup shower, but don’t count on any to water the plants. Tomorrow, nearly identical: a muggy Wednesday morning with highs topping out in the lower 90s.

Across south Mississippi you’re seeing overnight rainshowers sticking around some this morning: look for more of that kind of treatment throughout your Tuesday. Highs not too bad, though: only reaching the upper 80s.
