Two Escaped Jail and Now One is Still on the Run in Mississippi

SIMPSON COUNTY – Simpson County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Bryan Buckley reports that on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, two inmates escaped from the Simpson County Adult Detention Center approximately 10:00 am.

Simpson County Deputies captured inmate Cutrell Varnado approximately 30 minutes later. Varnado is currently incarcerated for Capital Murder and Kidnapping. Simpson County Deputies along with Mendenhall Police Department, US Marshals, and MS Highway Patrol are currently searching for inmate Shawn Dustin Bratcher. Bratcher is a 26 year old white male approximately 5’ 10” and 150 lbs. Bratcher was last seen wearing white t-shirt and brown pants and he was last seen on Downs Ave in the Athens Rd area. Bratcher is currently incarcerated for Receiving Stolen Property.
