Two nabbed for marijuana seizure in Vicksburg

The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics picked up two people after uncovering 15 pounds of marijuana in Vicksburg.

The man, 32-year-old Michael Taveras of Houston, Texas and 30-year-old Raykeisha Smith of Compton, California, were arrested and face several drug charges.

Taveras faces a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and Smith is looking at a charge of possession of marijuana less than one ounce.

The street value of the weed is $15,000 according to MBN Director John Dowdy.

Both suspects were booked in the warren County Jail and will appear in the Warren County Justice Court. The investigation is ongoing with the MBN.
