Two Teenagers Killed in Holmes County Wreck After Truck Hit a Tree

TCHULA, Miss.–A wreck Sunday afternoon in Holmes County killed 17-year-old Katelyn Winstead and 18-year-old Payton Netherland, according to Holmes County Sheriff Willie March. The two were in a Ford F-150 that hit a tree near Tchula.

The driver, Sarah Matthews, 15, was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was listed in good condition. Breezynews.com reported Matthews is a student at Kosciusko High School, while the other two were students at Central Holmes Christian School.

While the cause of the wreck is under investigation, police were looking at speed as a possible cause.
