U.S Obesity Going Up, Mississippi’s Ranking Going Down

JACKSON, Miss. – More and more people across the United States are obese.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention 17 percent of all adults and children are overweight.

Mississippi is now no longer the most obese state in the union, that title has been given to Arkansas. In fact, the Magnolia State dropped two spots to place it at 48th.

This isn’t really good news however, as the percent of those who are overweight in the state has actually gone up by two percent, according to the State of Obesity.
