Last week, the Lee County Sheriff’s Department and North MS Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at 121 Savannah Street, in Verona, and arrested 26 year-old Daris D. Fair.
During the search, agents seized a large amount of marijuana and $8,822.00 in cash. They also seized a large amount of marijuana belonging to Fair from a vehicle located at 304 Tall Oaks Avenue, also in Verona. All together they seized approximately 16 pounds of marijuana.
Fair was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute (marijuana trafficking) and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. These charges will be enhanced due to the fact the firearm was located inside the residence where the search warrant was executed.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Department and North MS Narcotics Unit had received information from several different sources about illegal drug activity taking place at both of these locations in the city of Verona.
