VIDEO On Demand: Arrest Made in 2 Year-Old Murder Case, Man Walks in Store Naked, and MLB Draft Last Night

Johnny Mack Brown and his wife Shontina were arrested today for the murder of Ricky Saxton back in 2013. They’re both charged with capital murder, conspiracy to commit capital murder, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Bond was denied for both. WJTV reported that they confessed, and it was his mother and aunt that turned them in.

A 71-year-old woman and her daughter were arrested for running over an 85-year-old woman with a motorized shopping cart in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart in Pearl. The victim had 5 broken vertebrae in her neck and back. But the woman claimed it was just an accident and that she lost control of the cart. But the two were still charged with simple assault.

Last night in Gulfport a man walked into a store naked. Kenda Casey was turned away, and he didn’t like that so he decided he’d steal someone’s car and take off. Leading the cops on a chase that ended up with a K-9 unit taking matters into their own hands. He was bitten by one of the police dogs when they caught him.

And DeSoto Central’s own Austin Riley was selected in the MLB Draft last night at number 41 overall by the Atlanta Braves as a 3rd baseman. He was committed to Mississippi State to play baseball next season, but now he’s got a decision to make because this deal with the Braves is worth 1.5 million dollars guaranteed. He has until July 17th to make his decision.
