The weather is looking a little gloomy today across the Magnolia state.

Mike Edmonston, Senior Meteorologist with the National Weather Service said if you’re on the roads this morning in North Mississippi beware of dense fog. Edmonston said there is dry air moving through the area that is causing the fog.

However, there has not been a dense fog alert issued yet.

Highs in North Mississippi will be will be in the mid to upper 80’s. Cooler temperatures are expected for the southern region of the state.

I the central and southern portion of the state expect some scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.

“We aren’t expecting anything strong or severe at this time just some heavy downpours,” said Edmonston.

Highs in those areas will be in the low 80’s which is just under average for this time of year.
