District play begins tonight in Mississippi high school football!

After a rankings shakeup last week, you’re seeing a lot of schools getting a shot at the big guys tonight.

#1 ranked Pearl, sitting undefeated, heads to Petal to take on the 2-2 Panthers.

The #2 West Point Green Wave will roll to Lafayette High School tonight to face the 0-4 Commodores. It may be a long night for Lafayette.

Hattiesburg High School, taking a bye last week, benefited from the rankings shuffle, ticking up to #4 in the state. They’re hosting the Gautier Gators tonight.

The same can be said for Hattiesburg’s cross-town rival Oak Grove who climbed to #9 after taking a bye week: they’re up against the George County Rebels tonight.

The Madison Central Jaguars fell three spots to #7 after a loss to Pearl last week: tonight they head to Clinton to battle the Arrows.

And a top-ten match-up between #5 Warren Central and #8 Northwest Rankin will surely rattle the rankings again.
