Friday night under the lights, and Mississippi is ready for week 7.

Meridian will be heading to face the #1 Pearl Pirates in a game that some are calling an upset alert: Pearl has won two close games back-to-back, only scoring 28 points combined.

A top-ten showdown in Starkville as the #4 Yellow Jackets host the #7 Northwest Rankin Cougars. Both teams carrying only one loss apiece at this point; this will shake up the top standings.

One notable game featuring two teams who aren’t in the top ten: the 4-2 Oxford Chargers will head down the road a short drive to South Panola to face the Tigers (also 4-2) who are still rebuilding their program and coming off a loss to Horn Lake last week.

And in the MAIS, the Jackson Prep Patriots will make the short trip to meet cross-town rivals Jackson Academy, both teams undefeated in 6 games so far.
