Weekday weather rundown: 1-12-18

Here’s what you can expect from the weather today across the Magnolia state.

There is a winter storm warning for the entire state in effect until 6 o’clock this evening.

In North Mississippi cloudy today with some light freezing rain expected along with a chance of light sleet and light rain likely in the morning, as well as, a chance for some light snow during the day. Highs will be in the lower 30s. Tonight, colder with mostly cloudy skies. Lows will be in the lower 20s.

In Central Mississippi, much colder today, expect cloudy skies with a chance of light rain that could turn into freezing rain or sleet in the morning. There is a slight chance of light snow during the day and more rain that could turn into sleet in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 30s. Tonight, mostly cloudy in the evening, then clearing up, as temperatures will dip down to the mid-20s.

In South Mississippi, the temperatures have dropped along with the rest of the state, but not going to be seeing any snow today in South Mississippi, expect cloudy skies with highs in the upper 40s. At night, colder with mostly cloudy skies in the evening, then clearing up. Lows will be in the upper 20s.
