Across the Southern portion of the state, sunny, with a high near 55. Tonight increasing clouds, with a low around 42. Calm wind.
But Saturday, rain chances increase–for South Mississippi showers likely, mainly after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 65 and a 60% chance of rain. Low around 60 with increasing rain chances.
In Central Mississippi–rain. High near 59.Chance of precipitation is 90%. Rain will ring in the new year with a low around 56.
For North Mississippi the rain will make an appearance mainly after noon. High near 51. Saturday night rain chances increase. Low around 46. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
2017 will be off to a wet start, with showers and thunderstorms possible throughout the day.
