Four arrested in Rankin Co. for auto break in’s

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss.- Over 30 auto burglaries have been reported in Rankin County over the past two months. The sheriff’s office now believes they have those responsible in custody. 

The thieves were taking firearms, computers, cameras, gift cards, checks, wallets, credit cards and other things from vehicles. Some windows were broken and several of the vehicles were left unlocked.

Deputies received a warrant to search a home, when they arrived four suspects attempted to escape and were chased on foot by deputies until they were caught.  In total, they found seven suspect, four of which were charged for the auto burglaries, the other three were detained on drug paraphernalia charges. One juvenile was arrested for the auto burglaries.

The 17-year-old was taken to the Rankin County Juvenile Detention Center and charged with six counts of auto burglary.

The three adults were taken to the Rankin County Jail. They are being held without bond, pending their appearance in court. Additional charges could be made.
