Here’s a quick rundown of the weather today across the Magnolia state.

In north Mississippi, expect partly sunny skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Highs for the day will climb into the lower 90s and at night, mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows will dip down into the lower 70s.

In central Mississippi, mostly sunny in the morning, then becoming mostly cloudy. There is a slight chance for some showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Highs will climb into the lower 90s. The heat index readings for the day will climb around 101. Tonight, mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will be in the lower 70s.

In south Mississippi, mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Highs will reach the lower 90s during the day and the highest heat index readings will be anywhere from 100 to 102. During the night, expect mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will drop down into the lower to mid-70s.
