Weekend weather rundown: cooler temperatures, cloudy skies, areas of fog

Here’s a quick look at what the weather is going to be like across Mississippi this Christmas weekend.

In North Mississippi, Saturday will be cooler than yesterday. Clouds are still out with showers and a chance of thunderstorms in the morning. Highs are expected to be in the lower to mid-50s. Tonight colder with mostly cloudy skies. Lows will drop down in the mid to upper 30s.

Sunday, mostly cloudy for Christmas Eve, but beginning to feel a bit more like December weather with highs in the mid 40s. A chilly night will have the family ready for some hot cocoa as the temperatures dip down to the mid to upper 20s.

In Central Mississippi, Saturday cooler with cloudy skies and some scattered showers in the morning. Highs will near 60. At night colder and mostly cloudy with lows near 40s.

Christmas Eve, the sun is making an appearance with partly sunny skies. Highs will reach the mid-50s then the clouds are back in the evening for a bit and lows will be in the lower 30s to help get you in the Christmas spirit with some colder weather.

In South Mississippi, mostly cloudy on Saturday with some patchy fog in the morning. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning. Also expecting a slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs will reach the upper 60s. At night much colder with mostly cloudy skies and some patchy fog after midnight. Lows will drop  down to the lower 40s.

Sunday is Christmas Eve and the sun will peep out for a bit. Some patchy fog is expected in the morning with highs in the mid-60s. Sunday night partly cloudy skies with lows in the mid-30s will be the perfect weather to sit by the fire with family.
