A deputy chief arrested just outside of Jackson yesterday, is now out of a job.

The incident happened at the Renasant Bank in Ridgeland. That’s where witnesses say, Jackson deputy chief Brady Hightower got into some type of scuffle with his girlfriend, that led to her getting hit in the lip. The two were apparently arguing over their car.
when police got there, the girlfriend decided to press charges and therefore Deputy chief Brady Hightower was arrested.
He’s now been charged with simple assault domestic violence.
His trial’ll start next month.

A Columbus City Councilman is calling one of his colleagues a racist.

Marty Turner took to face to saying that he could not remember one time that fellow councilman Bill Gavin voted for a black person getting a job when a white person applied for the same position.
Mayor Robert Smith says there are no consequences for such accusations.
Gavin has yet to respond to the comments.

Charged with having sex with a minor.

Jerricho Gandy, 20, of Waynesboro has accused of having sex with a 13 year old.
It supposedly happened twice and one of the times it was recorded.
He’s now behind bars with a $50,000 bond.

It was a big night at the state capital, Gov. Bryant giving the state of the state address.

He talked Money, jobs, budget cuts, and foster care just to name a few, in front of a joint session.Bryant says he’s proud when it comes to where the state is financially.


He continued saying that Mississippi law makers must work towards a plan where blue collar Mississippians get a tax dividend.
