Woman Accused of Kidnapping Her Son Returned to Mississippi to Face Charges

FLOWOOD, Miss. – A Rankin County woman has been returned to the U.S. to face charges of kidnapping her own son.

Jennifer Houff appeared Monday in Jackson federal court.  Investigators said she took her son, who will be 16-years-old in a few weeks, from Flowood in March 2012 and fled to Egypt. A federal warrant for international parental kidnapping was issued for her nearly a month later.

FBI agents said they worked with their Legal Attache’s office in Cairo, Egypt, the U.S.’ Justice and State Departments and the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department to bring Houff back to Mississippi.
