Woman in Court Today for Severely Biting her Children

JACKSON, Miss. – April is child abuse awareness month and what this woman did to her own kids is one of many forms of abuse you might see.

24-year-old, Casondra Davis, appeared in court Monday for charges of biting her two young children.

A lead detective in the case testified that the attack was on a five and six year old March 16 inside her home. He said it was so severe that the children were treated for the bite injuries at a local hospital. Police said the children had multiple bite marks all over their bodies.

Davis was arrested the next day on charges of child abuse, simple assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. This wasn’t Davis’s first encounter with the police. She has been arrested six times by Jackson police in the past four years on charges including domestic violence, child endangerment and for a DUI.

A judge set bond for Davis at $10,000 and said that she could not have any contact with her children.

Family members are currently caring for the two kids.
