MARSHALL COUNTY, Miss.–A wreck Monday afternoon in a rural part of Marshall County killed a 17-year-old girl who was visiting from California. There were two people in the car when they hit a tree on Hwy. 178.
The wreck happened just east of the Red Banks community. Police told media that the car was being driven by Javaris Pugues, 23, of Memphis. It went off the road before hitting the tree.
Killed was Alexa Dashiel of Compton, Calif.
Pugues was hurt and was taken to the hospital.
