Yazoo City Police Sergeant Fired After Fight With Brother

YAZOO CITY, Miss.- A fight between two brothers resulted in the firing of a Yazoo City Police Sergeant. Yazoo Police department received reports of shots fired in the 616 East 10th Street area on Tuesday night, only to find out that it was one of their own Sergeants that was the culprit.

Sgt. Michael Jones was off duty, when he hit his brother Brandon with a bottle. He told police that Brandon shot at him numerous times during the fight.

Brandon was taken to Kings Daughter Hospital for treatment when he was later released and charged with disorderly conduct. An affidavit was also issued for domestic violence. Sgt. Jones was charged with the same thing, along with the termination of his job.

Both went before the Judge on Wednesday and were released on bond.

The investigation into the case is still ongoing.
