Secretary of State Hoseman May Run if Cochran Retires

JACKSON, Miss. — As the election draws nearer many still speculate on whether or not 75-year-old US Senator Thad Cochran will run for reelection.

Thursday Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann told the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal that he has had his eye on the seat and may run if the senator retired, but if not he would still support him.

Cochran has been on the Senate since 1978 and said he will let Mississippians know whether or not he will seek reelection before March 2014.

Recently State Senator Chris McDaniel has also shown interest in running for Cochran’s seat.
