VICKSBURG, Miss. – Hit in the head by a bullet at her grandmother’s home, 6-year-old Jamerica Ragsdale is now dead.
Family members decided to take her off life support after doctors told them she was brain-dead. The body of the little girl is now at the state crime lab for an autopsy.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace says a 16-year-old at the house was playing with a gun Tuesday when he accidentally pulled the trigger. The bullet went through a bedroom wall and hit the girl in the head. The teenager is being held at the Youth Detention Center on a charge of possession of a firearm by a minor.
