Weekend weather rundown: 2-23-19

Here’s a quick rundown of the weather today across Mississippi.

In north Mississippi, warmer today with showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. The national weather service warns that some thunderstorms may be severe in the afternoon. Temperatures will climb into the upper 70s. At night, colder with partly cloudy skies, more thunderstorms and a chance of showers in the evening with more severe thunderstorms possible. Lows will dip down into the mid-40s.

In central Mississippi, warmer with mostly cloudy skies, chances of thunderstorms and showers throughout the day. Some thunderstorms may be severe in the afternoon and highs will reach the lower 80s. In the evening, slightly cooler with mostly cloudy skies in the evening, then clearing. More showers and thunderstorms are expected after midnight and lows will be in the upper 40s.

In south Mississippi, cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 80s. Tonight, expect cooler temperatures with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening with light rain after midnight. Lows will dip down into the lower to mid-50s.
