Power Crews Stand By for Winter Weather

JACKSON, Miss. – Arctic winds are expected to dump snow, sleet, and freezing rain on southern Mississippi Tuesday while the entire the state will be feeling below freezing temperatures. Power outages may come with the extreme weather.  Entergy Spokesperson Mara Hartmann says their crews are prepared to ship out Tuesday morning.

“If you work for Entergy and a big storm is coming you know it’s all hands on deck. So, what we are doing right now as far as restoration crews go, they are aware that many of them in the central and northern part of the state may be called upon to go areas in the south affected by the weather,” said Hartmann.

Also, if your power goes out and your neighbor already called, it is best to call your power company too, because you could be on a different circuit.
