Overnight Storms Injure Two, Damage Buildings, Close Roads

PEARL, Miss. – North Mississippi was hit the hardest from overnight storms. Mississippi Emergency Management Agency reported damage across several counties and two people injured, no word on their condition.

The counties reporting damages are as follows:

  • Chickasaw: Damage to a home. Trees and power lines down.
  • Coahoma: Damage to a home and trees down. One injury.
  • Grenada: Damage to a few homes. Trees and power lines down.
  • Panola: Damage to a few homes. Several roads closed due to debris and flooding. One injury.
  • Pontotoc: Damage to several homes. Several roads closed due to debris and flooding.
  • Quitman: Damage to a few homes. Trees and power lines down.
  • Tishomingo: Damage to a home and trees down.
  • Webster: Trees down and power outages.

This coming Sunday there could be another round of server weather with heavy rainfall, around 5 inches in some areas.
