HATTIESBURG, Miss.- The Hattiesburg Clinic’s Memory Center is partnering on a study to improve care for individuals who suffer from Alzheimer’s.
The imaging Dementia-Evidence for Amyloid Scanning Study(IDEAS) focuses on brain imaging in hopes that doctors can detect amyloid plaque buildup to detect early onsets of Alzheimer’s disease, or patients with increased potential for a diagnosis.
The PET imagining scans will be used to highlight the plaque present. Patients will then schedule a followup with a specialist to determine a course of action in the future.
