Baldwyn Man Facing Charges For Fire that Killed His Daughter

BALDWYN, Miss. – A Baldwyn father has been charged with second-degree murder for the fire-related death of his 7-year-old daughter.

David Floyd,28, was arrested Monday and made his initial appearance in court where his bond was set at 1 million dollars.

Investigators said emergency crews responded to a fire last week and found Floyd’s daughter, Savannah in a bedroom suffering from extensive burns.  The child’s mother, an 18-month-old and a 2-month old got out of the house, but were hurt .  All four were taken to the hospital, where Savannah later died.

The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating and said more charges are possible.
