GULFPORT, Miss.–A one-year-old child was found beaten and bruised and now police have 24-year-old Elise Arlyn Balsley Bryant in jail. When police got the call, neighbors at the William Bell Apartments said it sounded like someone was being roughed up, with yelling, screaming and beating sounds.
That happened about 10:30 Thursday morning and police said when they got there, they founf Balsley-Bryant leaning over the boy, who had his legs tied together.
His head was swelling and his arms were bruised.
News Mississippii affiliate WOSM reported the child was taken to the hospital and the woman was taken to jail, where she still is.
The child’s injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
