Car Vandalized, Confederate Flag Used, Claims Olive Branch Woman

OLIVE BRANCH, Miss.–It’ll cost about $800 to replace the tires on Nancy Miller’s car, but it may take more than that to give her peace of mind after she found all four tires slashed and a Confederate flag on top of the car when she went out Tuesday morning to take her son to school.

That’s what she told the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Dept., reported FOX 13 in Memphis. Pictures of the car purported to show the damage and the flag, which she showed deputies.

While Miller believes the act should be investigated as a hate crime, the sheriff told the TV station that his office would be looking further into it to see if it fits the definition of a hate crime, which would require the involvement of the feds in the investigation.
