CBS to Broadcast Egg Bowl for First Time

OXFORD, Miss.- The Egg Bowl, the one game where family, friends and the entire state are divided.

For the first time ever CBS will televise the Egg Bowl, No. 1 Mississippi State and No. 10 Ole Miss over the Iron Bowl, No. 4 Alabama and No. 9 Auburn. The SEC made that announcement Monday.

CBS has the first pick of SEC games each week, but its contract limits the network to five selections per school each season and this week Alabama will appear for the fifth time when it takes on Mississippi State at Tuscaloosa.

The Iron Bowl had been televised on CBS the past seven years, but this year it will be on ESPN.

Egg Bowl kick off will be at 2:30 p.m. in Oxford Nov. 29.
