Christmas on the Roads

JACKSON, Miss. – It was a deadly Christmas holiday travel period in Mississippi.  The Mississippi Highway Patrol confirms troopers worked 134 accidents, and investigated four traffic deaths.

More than 3,570 traffic citations were given out; 33 people arrested for DUI and 6 on drug charges. The holiday enforcement period started Monday at 6 p.m. and ended Thursday at midnight. MPH will continue its “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign through January 2.
