Fresh Info Reinvigorates #JusticeforJessica

News Mississippi has learned Panola County investigators are following new leads in the search for the person or persons that killed Jessica Chambers nearly two months ago.

“They told me Friday they had some good things that they were working on,” said Jessica’s father Ben Chambers.  “I think they picked some people up and questioned them.  I hope to know something soon.”

Jessica died December 7, a day after police said someone poured an accelerant down her mouth and nose and set her on fire, burning her alive.

While some on social media have criticized the investigation into Jessica’s death, her family said they are confident in law enforcement.  “They turning over every leaf and ever stone you know, but so far they just haven’t got no evidence as far as I know,” said Chambers.  But he said local police are working day and night.  “I know they supposed to go on vacation this time of year; and they not going on vacation.  They staying and working, you know.  The Sheriff text me the other day and said ‘Ben,’ he said ‘you know I will never give up on you.’”

Jessica’s mom agreed.  “They doing all they can do.  They are working hard,” said Lisa Chambers. But knowing that her daughter’s killer is still out there “makes me sick to my stomach.”

Lisa Chambers said she hopes police will make an arrest soon.

The family is asking anyone with any information to contact police.  A reward of over $50,000 is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest.
