A Madison County husband and wife coaching couple have until Friday to decide if they will plead guilty to having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student, or go to trial.
Mike and Blair Porter, both charged with sexual battery, were in court Monday for a hearing.
Investigators said the couple had two sexual encounters with the student, including one at Ridgeland High School were they worked; Mike Porter as head girls’ softball coach; his wife Blair was his assistant, who also worked as a teacher at Ole Towne Middle School. They were indicted last summer, and fired by the school district.
If the couple decides to go to court, they’re trial will begin February 23.
