Funerals this weekend for Lincoln County shooting victims

It has been one week since the deadly shootings in Lincoln County. Saturday, the families of those victims will continue the process of saying goodbye.

The funeral for 17-year-old Jordan Blackwell and his 11-year-old cousin, Austin Blackwell, will be held Saturday at 2pm at Alexander Junior High in Brookhaven.

Shelia Burage, 46, and Ferral Burage, 45, husband and wife, will be memorialized Sunday, June 4 at the same junior high at 2pm.

The final funeral for Barbara Mitchell, Tocarra May, and Mitchell’s sister, Brenda May, will be held on Monday June 5, also at Alexander Junior High.

Fallen Lincoln County Deputy William Durr was laid to rest on Thursday.

Deputy Durr, Barbara Mitchell, Toccarra May and Brenda May were all found shot dead at 2871 Lee Drive in Bogue Chitto last Saturday night.

The second crime scene was located at 1658 Coopertown Road in Brookhaven and the bodies of Austin Blackwell, age 11 and Jordan Blackwell, age 17 were located there.

The third crime scene was located at 312 East Lincoln Road, where Ferral Burage, age 45 and his wife, Shelia Burage, age 46, were recovered from their home.

Suspect Willie Cory Godbolt was arrested Sunday morning following the shooting. He was charged with one count of capital murder and seven counts of first degree murder. He is being held without bond until his hearing in July.
