24 year-old Juan Luis Cantu AKA “Flaco,” of La Joya, Texas, was arrested and charged for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance, one of these places being the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

He was sentenced to 74 months in federal prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release and also ordered to pay a $3,000 fine.

On February 20, 2018, Cantu pled guilty to conspiring to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and 100 kilograms or more of marijuana.

During the investigation, the DEA learned from a cooperating source that Cantu was a source of supply for cocaine and marijuana on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Cantu was identified by multiple sources, and said to be instrumental in introducing individuals to each other for the purposes of assisting in the distribution of at least 500 grams of cocaine and 100 grams of marijuana.
