Have A Weather Plan Ready: Could See Heavy Rain, Flooding Come Tuesday

JACKSON, MISS–Fall weather and even frosty mornings this weekend, but the National Weather Service says Tuesday and Wednesday won’t be nearly as pleasant.  Sunday you’ll see highs across North Mississippi in the mid 60’s, upper 60’s central and south. But don’t get too attached to this lovely weather, nasty weather and heavy rain are moving in for the early part of the week.

Thunderstorms and heavy rain are likely, maybe even some flooding and severe storms for Tuesday and Wednesday for you in central and South Mississippi. Have a plan in place just in case.

As the front moves across Mississippi, Vicksburg, Natchez, and up to Greenville are all timed to get the heaviest storms in the afternoon and going into the night. East of Vicksburg, up to Greenwood and just south of Jackson will see heavy rain move into the area Tuesday evening, through the overnight hours and into Wednesday morning, moving east in a line through Columbus, Meridian, and Hattiesburg.

News Mississippi will continue to follow this forecast.
