High School Football Preview – Week 10

As we move into the later stages of the regular season, high school football is heating up.

In the 6A region, the undefeated Pearl Pirates (9-0) put their undefeated record on the line tonight as they take a winless Jim Hill (0-8) Sqaud.

Staying with the unbeaten teams, and 8-0 Tupelo team will face off against Desoto Central (3-6) tonight in Tupelo.

Starkville is 7-1 and will take Murrah (1-7) tonight.

In 5A, and perhaps the game of the week an 8-0 Hattiesburg High will square off against a 7-1 Picayune in a game that could decide the top spot region 4 of 5A.

And a 9-0 Cleveland Central High will face of with Germantown (5-3) on the road.

Itawamba AHS and Pontotoc are a pair of 8-1 battling it out for the top spot in Region 2 of 4A.

Perry Central (8-0) will take on Collins High (7-2) in a game that will decide the Region 8 championship in 2A.

A few more games to mention: Cross town rivals West Jones (6-2) and South Jones (7-2) will play for county bragging rights in this 5A matchup.

Houston (5-3) and Aberdeen (5-4) will play with 3A playoff implications on the line.

Jackson Academy (7-1) travels to take on Parklane Academy (8-1) and Jackson Prep (9-0) hits the road to take on New Hope (5-4).
