PEARL, Miss. –Large lines were already forming Thursday morning when the grand opening kickoff of the Outlet of Mississippi in Pearl, Miss. began on the grounds.
The largest line was for the Nike store that is shown above but many others had patrons gathering at store fronts to get a jump on other shoppers.
“In the words of a great southern philosopher….I’m happy, happy, happy,” said Pearl Mayor Brad Rogers who was at the opening kickoff event. “This is something that when the government comes together with a private partner this shows you what can happen.”
The outlet has around 80 different stores to choose from like Nike, J Crew, Off Saks 5th Avenue, Under Armour, and more.
Governor Phil Bryant was on hand and talked about the nearly 1,600 jobs that were created at the outlet.
“We will go around the world literally to create 1,600 jobs,” he said. “But today we didn’t have to go far.”
Situated right beside Bass Pro and Trustmark Park in Pearl the Outlets of Mississippi is now open and ready for business.
