In north Mississippi, There is a heat advisory in effect from 11 a.m. this morning until 10 p.m. tonight. During the day, expect mostly sunny skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the mid-90s and the heat index will climb up anywhere between 102 and 107. Tonight, partly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Lows will be in the mid-70s.

In central Mississippi, mostly sunny skies expected for the Fourth. There will be patchy fog in the morning and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms that will continue into the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower to mid-90s. Feels like temperatures will be hot and humid around 107.

In south Mississippi, partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, then showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 90s and the highest heat index readings will range from 100 to 103. Tonight, mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. There is also a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows will be in the lower to mid-70s.
