JACKSON, Miss. – A guard working at the University of Mississippi Medical Center died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver.
58-year-old Mattie Amos was crossing the street on her way to work when she was hit. She was then hit a second time, but this time the driver stopped, while the first driver took off.
No information has been provided on the make or model of the vehicle.
Amos had been with UMMC for close to a year.
