Trying to Remove Ban on Gay Couples Adopting

JACKSON, Miss. – Four gay couples are trying to stop Mississippi from enforcing a law that bans Same-sex couples from taking in foster care children or adopting.

The lesbian couples made a request for a preliminary injunction Friday. It’s not known how soon U.S. District Judge Daniel P. Jordan will consider the request.

The couples are trying to overturn a 2000 adoption ban.
