Former Jackson Police Department officer Justin Roberts failed to show up for trial on Thursday after being charged with assault.
Roberts was expected to appear on the stand but failed to show up. A warrant has now been issued for his arrest for failure to appear in court.
Roberts was originally caught on video hitting Ladarius Brown as he was being arrested and was already handcuffed. Brown is being represented by Carols Moore.
