Mark Formby resigns from the House of Representatives

The District 108 House of Representatives seat is now vacant after Representative Mark Formby resigned around April 14, 2017. 

Formby stepped down in order to take a position with the Workers Compensation Commission. The Special Election to fill the vacancy will take place on July 25, 2017.

The deadline for qualifiers is June 5, 2017. A runoff is scheduled for August 15, if necessary.

“I, Phil Bryant, Governor of the State of Mississippi, do heareby issue this Writ of Election, and hereby declare that the special election to fill the vacancy in the House of Representatives District 108, as such district existed for the 2015 legislative elections, shall be held on July 25, 2017.”
